2009 Rides
All rides we did in 2009 were a huge success! Please find below the highlights from the 2009 ride season:
Ride #5 - Sunday Oct. 4, 2009
Our last of 5 rides this season! We had 11 bikes and 13 people show up to go over McClure Pass, through Paonia, Hotchkiss, and Delta to Montrose in what looked like a bad weather day. Well, we had a great, dry ride all the way to Montrose and got to see some beautiful colors of Autumn along the way! All day it seemed we were chasing the storm clouds away from us. The only time we hit anything was on the ride home, I-70 roadway was wet, but that was it. We had lunch in Montrose and headed home through Grand Junction where we stopped at one of the local wineries and had a tasting. It was another Great Day & Ride!
A very sincere "Thank You" to all of our riders and sponsors who supported us once again this year. We look forward to next season and hope to keep growing!

Ride #4 - Saturday August 22 - Breckenridge
18 Riders over to Breckenridge on a Magnificent Day!
Rode over Independence Pass on the way there and the weather and conditions were perfect! Rode through Leadville and Copper Mt. to Frisco and up into Breckenridge. We split up and some had lunch in Bubba Gump's and some in the Brewery, both good eats. Left Breck at about 4:30 for ride home. Everyone got home safely and we are hoping to get one last group ride together in September...we'll keep you posted.
Ride #3 - Sunday July 19 - Leadville
Ride #3 turned out to be another great day! We had 26 riders and a total of 32 people rode to Leadville. We took I-70 out and had cloud cover most of the way which made for perfect riding weather. We stopped at Edwards for a quick refreshment and continued on to Minturn/Leadville. What a nice, scenic road to ride! We got into Leadville about 12:30 and spread out all over the town for lunch and shopping in the really nice (and authentic) antique shops. We gathered back up at 2:30 and headed out for our trip home over Independence Pass. All was going well until we got hit with a hail storm for about 8-10 minutes on the pass...no place to pull over & take cover! We just rode through it and by the time we arrived at the Continental Divide it was all good again. We rode down into Aspen and stopped at Paradise Bakery for coffee, ice cream, etc. and left there at 5:00. We were all back, safe & sound, by 5:45. We're planning a trip to Breckenridge on a Saturday in August (15 or 22). Check this page soon for the exact date and info.

Ride #2 - Saturday June 27 - Steamboat Springs
We went on ride #2 and it was fantastic! Both the weather and the turn-out was great! We had 22 bikes and 30 people participate in our ride to Steamboat Springs. We left Glenwood around 10am and got to Steamboat at 1:30 after a stop at the Wolcott Yacht Club for refreshments. After arriving in Steamboat we split up in groups and ate lunch, shopped and walked around the town. The temperature was high 70's-80 all day. We all met up at 3:30 for the ride home and decided to go through Craig instead of going the way we came. Everyone was tired by the end of the day, which was 6:30, but all had a great time and look forward to our next ride. We are talking about going to Leadville some time in July. We will keep you posted with all the specifics.

Ride #1 - Sunday June 7 - Zak's BBQ Hotchkiss
We had 8 riders on Ride #1 (Sunday, June 7th) and the weather was "threatening" but held up long enough for us to enjoy a great ride and lunch at Zak's in Hotchkiss and a good ride home. We discussed Ride #2 (Wineries in Palisades, Leadville-Minturn, Gateway) if you have any suggestions bring them up, we would be happy to consider it.
